This year, it looks like Samsung is making good on its two-day battery life promise, at least for a couple of 2025 phones we have experienced thus far. We are in the process of reviewing the Galaxy A56, and its battery life in our early tests truly impresses us.
If this sounds familiar, we said the same thing about the Galaxy S25 Ultra at the end of January before our review came out. But we weren't expecting a similarly positive experience from the mid-range Galaxy A56.
Nevertheless, here we are. After spending some time with the Galaxy A56, we're happy to say this new mid-range phone is shaping up to be a real battery monster.
With mixed usage, i.e., no mobile games, we got nearly two days of usage from the Galaxy A56 by the time the battery dropped to 24%. We recorded six and a half hours of screen-on time and one day and sixteen hours of screen-off time. See the screenshot below.
In case you're wondering, the Galaxy A56 features a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging. Furthermore, the phone is equipped with Samsung's new mid-range Exynos 1580 4nm chip. We are just as surprised as you that we achieved such positive battery life results in our initial test from an Exynos SoC, but there you have it.
It's also worth noting that, compared to the Galaxy A55, Samsung's new Galaxy A56 boasts a slightly larger (by 0.1 inches) and brighter display. Thankfully, this upgrade doesn't seem to have prevented the phone from exceeding battery life expectations.
We will continue to test the Galaxy A56 for our upcoming review. Until we're ready to share our full Galaxy A56 experience, you should check out our One UI 7 early comparison video below, starring the A56 alongside a couple of flagship Galaxy phones.
