Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy M55s, its new mid-range smartphone, in India. The phone was teased a few days ago, and its images and specifications were leaked. Other than its unique rear design, we can't find any difference between this phone and the Galaxy M55 that was launched a few months ago.
The Galaxy M55s is priced at INR 19,999 (~$240) for the 128GB version and INR 22,999 (~$275) for the 256GB version. It comes in two color options: Coral Green and Thunder Black. You can buy the Galaxy M55s through Amazon India's or Samsung India's websites starting September 26.
Samsung is offering a discount of INR 2,000 (~$24) if you buy this phone using a select credit or debit card.
The new mid-range smartphone from Samsung sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,000 nits peak brightness. The phone has a plastic frame and a plastic back. Its screen is protected using Gorilla Glass, though. It has an in-screen optical fingerprint reader.
On the front, the Galaxy M55s has a 50MP selfie camera with an F2.2 aperture. On its back, the phone has a triple-camera setup which has a 50MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The phone can record 4K 30fps videos using the primary rear and front-facing cameras.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy M55s with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot. The phone runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1 software out of the box. Samsung has promised to offer four major Android OS updates and security updates for five years.
Its connectivity features include GPS, 5G, a dual-SIM card slot, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging.
