Galaxy Ring, Samsung's first smart ring, comes with a charging case that doubles as a dock for the wearable device as well. The case is how you're going to charge the device so if you ever misplace one or it breaks, you might need a replacement.
Samsung didn't sell these charging cases separately initially. Some early adopters that ran into issues with the case had no other option than to reach out to Samsung support and hope they approve a replacement, which they did in most cases. Now, though, there's finally an option to buy a replacement or a spare charging case, but it costs a pretty penny.
Samsung is now selling the charging case for the Galaxy Ring separately on its website for $90. That's quite the price tag when you consider that the smart ring itself costs $399. It's not a product that we see any frequent discounts on, either, so it's far from a budget buy.
The case (no pun intended) could be made that Samsung shouldn't be charging this much for a simple charging case for a device that only its loyal fans are likely to purchase, at least as far as the first iteration is concerned, so perhaps more generous pricing could have been appropriate here.
Nevertheless, it seems that this wasn't a concern for the company when pricing the charging case. Maybe it feels that the customers who have been happy with shelling out $399 for this product wouldn't mind spending another Franklin on the accessory.
It's not a one-size-fits-all case. You'll have to pick one that's the same size as your Galaxy Ring. The product page has all of the different sizes listed, so make sure that you make the right selection, otherwise it'll be another hassle of getting it exchanged.
