Two mildly conflicting reports have emerged today, hinting — for the first time — at two dates when Samsung's next major Unpacked event will supposedly unfold to reveal the Galaxy S25 series. Only one must be true.
On the one hand, the Korean media (via @Jukanlosreve) says Samsung will hold Unpacked on January 23, 2025.
On the other, trusted @MaxJmb hinted in a recent X post that Unpacked will be taking place a day earlier, on January 22.
Whether the Galaxy S25 series descends upon the smartphone market on January 22 or January 23, the Korean media says that Samsung will host its next Unpacked event in San Francisco, USA.
The last time Samsung launched an S-series flagship in San Francisco was in 2023, with the release of the S23 series. This year, Galaxy Unpacked moved to San Jose for the Galaxy S24 launch and the introduction of Galaxy AI.
Will there be three or four Galaxy S25 variants at Unpacked?
If you think the three-pronged Galaxy S launch strategy might be getting stale, you're probably excited about the prospect of a Slim variant joining the family.
Recent evidence suggests that Samsung is developing a so-called Galaxy S25 Slim with a much thinner profile than the other three S25 variants. Will this Slim model, which presumably carries a 200MP camera despite its thinness, also hit the stage at Unpacked in late January?

It's hard to be sure of anything right now, but we're leaning toward no. Even though the Korean media explores the possibility that the Galaxy S25 Slim could go live alongside the rest of the series in January next year, the recent report doesn't sound too sure about it.
And recently, we heard from credible industry watchers that if the S25 Slim sees the light of day, Samsung will not announce it at the same time as the rest of the S25 series.
So, for now, and until more evidence emerges, we're leaning toward no fourth model coming at Galaxy Unpacked, regardless of whether the event takes place on January 22 or January 23. Either way, we'll keep you posted as soon as we find out more.
