Samsung might revitalize its Galaxy S premium lineup for 2025 by releasing a “Slim” Galaxy S25 version later in the year. Despite the allegedly thin profile, rumors say the so-called Galaxy S25 Slim packs some of the most advanced technologies, including three powerful, high-resolution cameras.
A couple of weeks ago, the first bit of info about the Galaxy S25 Slim's camera configuration gave us a theoretical 200MP primary shooter. A mighty impressive characteristic for a phone that's supposed to be the thinnest Galaxy S in history!
The rumors are now evolving, and a new one (via @saaaanjjjuuu) sounds even more bonkers. It supposedly uncovered two other high-resolution shooters Samsung may adopt for its Slim premium phone. Here's the full camera overview (preliminary):
The source also speculates that, given the Galaxy S25 Slim's supposedly thin profile, its camera setup may use the ALoP (All Lens on Prism) technology Samsung revealed not long ago.
The purpose of ALoP technology is precisely to allow the lens to be more compact, all the while improving image quality.
Lastly, it is worth noting that although the ISOCELL JN5 exists and was officially announced in June 2024, the ISOCELL HP5 has not yet seen the light of day but has been the subject of a few rumors over the years.
Ignoring the S25 Slim, the last time we heard about the ISOCELL HP5 was in October last year, when a rumor said the Galaxy Z Fold 7 would feature this mysterious 200MP camera. At that time, however, the sensor was said to measure 1/1.3 rather than 1/1.56 inches.
With this bit of history in mind, the legitimacy of the ISOCELL HP5 remains a bit questionable in our minds. We'll let time decide how many of these Galaxy S25 Slim rumors will materialize.
Credible sources say if the Galaxy S25 Slim exists, it won't be announced in January alongside the rest of the Galaxy S25 series but at a later date in the year.
