There have been several reports about Galaxy Z Flip 7's and Galaxy Z Fold 7's features. However, none seem to agree about how thin the phones will be, especially the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Recently, it was rumored that it could be the world's thinnest foldable phone, but the source of that very rumor expressed doubts over the information.
Well, we're here to clear things up.
We have obtained Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 CAD files that we believe are accurate. According to them, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is 4.54mm thin when it is unfolded. When folded, it should be 9mm thin, or 0.1mm thicker than the OPPO Find N5, which is currently the world's thinnest foldable phone. Its unfolded dimensions are 158.43 x 143.14 x 4.54mm.
As you can see in the image, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a triple-camera setup on the rear. Each camera appears to have an individual camera ring, and all three rings sit on top of a vertical camera island.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is 6.94mm thick when it is unfolded. It is exactly the same as its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 6, so it appears that Samsung hasn't made efforts to thin it down. From the files we have, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 measures 166.61 x 75.23 x 6.84mm. When the camera bump is included, the phone is 9.17mm thick.
Recent reports reveal that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will come with a bigger, 4,300mAh battery, 300mAh more than that of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Samsung seems to have focused on increasing the battery capacity of the phone rather than slimming it down. And that's fine, because Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip smartphones have already been impressively thin for a long time when compared to the competition, unlike the Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
