Han Jong-hee, who is the CEO of Samsung Electronics as well as the Vice Chairman, has been reappointed as the chair of the Korea Electronics Association. He has been appointed for another three-year term at the helm of the organization.
Han has been the chairman of the Korea Electronics Association since 2021. This is going to be his second consecutive three-year term leading the organization, following the decision to reappointment him at the 49th regular general meeting last week.
The Korea Electronics Association was founded in 1976 to promote the development and spur progress in the IT and communication industry of South Korea. Samsung has had the distinct honor of leading this organization for more than two decades, as a Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman has consistently been at the helm since 2004.
Han's reappointment comes at a particularly challenging time as rising global economic uncertainties and rapid changes in global trade policies complicate business matters. Under Han, the Korea Electronics Association will continue to play a leading role for the sustained growth of the country's IT and electronics industry.
He also highlighted the need to implement proactive strategies that address the global supply chain uncertainty that's being caused by the increasingly protectionist policies being pursued by the current US administration.
Han has a critical role at Samsung Electronics as well. He oversees the Device eXperience division. Han has been with Samsung for more than three decades now and his rise through the ranks is testament to his business acumen and skill.
