When Samsung releases a security update to phones that are on a quarterly security update schedule, the brand typically rolls out the latest security patch available. Unfortunately, that’s not the case with the Galaxy S21 FE.
Even though Samsung already has the October 2026 security patch ready, the company is rolling out the August 2026 security patch to the Galaxy S21 FE. It fixes 56 security issues found in the previous version of the software.
Samsung appears to be rolling out the latest Galaxy S21 FE update globally. In India, the update for the international Snapdragon variant is 359.17MB in size and carries firmware version G990B2XXSKIZH2 (via Kailash).
Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE with One UI 4 (Android 12) and offered it four major OS upgrades, with the phone now running on One UI 8.0 (Android 16). That was its last major update, which means that it won’t get One UI 8.5 or One UI 9.0.
