With One UI 8.0, Samsung introduced more than eight new gaming features via Game Booster. Now, the company seems to have developed two more features that can be incredibly helpful and time-saving for gamers. One feature pre-downloads game updates, while the other synchronizes startup animation with game loading.
Samsung seems to have developed two new features to improve your gaming experience on Galaxy phones and tablets. Tipster GalaxyTechie spotted that the latest version of the Game Booster app introduces a toggle that lets the phone pre-download game updates. It also tries to synchronize the startup animation with game loading, which saves your precious time.
Sometimes, even after downloading and installing a game from the Galaxy Store or the Play Store, it downloads additional game files when you launch the app. And you have to wait for those files (sometimes in multiple gigabytes) to download before you can actually play the game. With the new feature in Game Booster, the phone tries to download those additional files before you open the game.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the ‘Pre-download game updates' feature is present in the Game Booster app's settings. Samsung says the new feature works for supported games when your phone is idle, charging, and is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Based on your phone's performance, Game Booster will also calculate the time it can take for the device to load the game. It will also boost the playback of game startup animation. Samsung says the purpose of this feature is to ensure that the animation is completed when the game is finished loading. It can save your time. However, if the developer doesn't want this feature to work on their game, Samsung will disable it based on the package name.
These features aren't available for everyone yet and will likely be released with the future beta versions or the stable version of One UI 8.0 on compatible Galaxy phones and tablets.
