While Samsung hasn't rolled out One UI 7.0 to all its devices yet, it has already started testing One UI 8.0, and we recently got our hands on One UI 8.0 (based on Android 16) on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. We reported changes and improvements in the upcoming version of One UI. One of the biggest changes that we showcased in our report won't be exclusive to Samsung.
The Quick Share UI has received a major redesign with One UI 8.0. It has separate tabs for Receive and Send functions. The UI looks more like a full-fledged app rather than a pop-up. And it looks like the UI won't be exclusive to Samsung devices, as stock Android 16 appears to have the same Quick Share UI. This UI was revealed by a report from Android Authority.
As you can see in the screenshots below, the Quick Share UI in both Android 16 and One UI 8.0 have Receive and Send tabs.

Both interfaces also display details of the files that are being shared and a QR code system for sharing files. Any Android smartphone or tablet user can just scan the provided QR code to receive the files via a direct connection.

This move seems logical as Google merged Android's Nearby Share feature into Samsung's Quick Share last year and used the Quick Share branding. It also introduced internet-based sharing after Samsung introduced it in One UI.
Since these are early days of testing One UI 8.0, Samsung might not have introduced a lot of features in it yet, and we may see more features by the time the company launches the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the second half of this year with Android 16 and One UI 8.0 onboard.
You can watch our One UI 8.0 hands-on video below.
Since One UI 7.0 was delayed by more than four months compared to Samsung's usual timeline for the release of a major new version of One UI, the company is trying to bring One UI 8.0 earlier. And the company might not introduce a lot of UI changes with it since it introduced a major UI design revamp with One UI 7.0 this year.
