Has Samsung delayed the wider rollout of the One UI 9 update for the Galaxy S26 series? That appears to be the case: the Galaxy S26 series may not start receiving the One UI 9 update outside Korea until September 28, a full week later than initially expected.

The update began rolling out in Korea on September 16. Samsung Thailand’s press release said the Galaxy S26 series would receive it in Thailand on September 21, suggesting the rollout could expand beyond Korea on that date.

But September 21 came and went, and Samsung Thailand has now changed the date for the S26 series to September 28. That’s the date the press release had already listed for the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7. It now puts the S26 series on the same schedule as those 2025 flagships.

The gap between the Korean release and the wider rollout is uncharacteristically long for a major One UI update, suggesting Samsung may have discovered issues with the initial release.

The company hasn’t confirmed a delay, though, and the revised date could apply only to Thailand. Hopefully, Samsung will explain what’s going on and won’t also push back the stable update for the Galaxy S25 series and other older devices.

For now, Galaxy S26 owners in Korea may get to exclusively enjoy the stable version of Android 17 and One UI 9 for a few more days. And perhaps the extra wait will make trying the first things they should check in One UI 9 that much more satisfying for everyone else.
