It hasn’t even been six months since Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC, and the company is already planning to launch its successor, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4.
On Bluesky, WinFuture’s Roland Quandt claims that Qualcomm is about to launch the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. He has also posted key specifications of the processor.
According to him, the upcoming chipset will be made on TSMC’s 4nm fabrication process. It features 1x 2.3GHz Cortex-A720 CPU core, 3x 2.2GHz Cortex-A720 CPU cores, and 4x 1.8GHz Cortex-A520 CPU cores. This, according to Quandt, offers 11% better CPU performance (we are assuming that it is in comparison with Snapdragon 6 Gen 3).
He hasn’t revealed the GPU the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 has but claims that it will be 29% faster. Once again, we think that’s the performance uplift compared to its predecessor. He says that the processor will pack Game Super Resolution, Adreno Frame Motion Engine, and Adreno HDR Fast Blend. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
Quandt says “Someone messed up on the NDA for the announcement, I don't have one so.” It suggests that the specifications of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 mentioned above come directly from Qualcomm. Also, considering that Qualcomm has already revealed details about the upcoming chipset to reviewers, it might launch the chipset anytime now.

From what we can recall and the information available on the internet, no brand or device has used the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. That’s because most brands are using MediaTek’s chipset for their mid-range smartphones rather than the ones from Qualcomm, most likely due to their higher prices. It will be interesting to see if brands adopt its successor.
