Currently, Google’s and Samsung’s Quick Share is available on Android, Windows, and Chrome OS, allowing you to seamlessly transfer files across these platforms. Soon, Quick Share is coming to a platform that you might have never imagined.
Google has announced that it will soon make Quick Share available on Google Built-in, an OS for car infotainment systems. This will allow people to transfer files from their phones or other devices to their cars wirelessly without internet (over Wi-Fi Direct).
This will enable them to transfer music tracks for offline playback, documents to show to police officials, or apps for side loading. At the moment, there’s no information about when Google will roll out the feature, but considering that the brand has made the announcement, it may arrive soon.
On a related note, Google is working on upgrading Android Auto with support for browser and video apps. Plus, it has showcased a light theme for the platform to developers, suggesting that it may come soon. All-in-all, Google is making efforts to offer a better in-car experience via its platforms.
