Ever since Samsung launched its first foldable smartphones, it was rumored that the company would launch cheaper foldable phones once the technology and required components become cheaper, but that hasn’t happened yet. It could happen soon, though.
According to some reports, Samsung executives told investors and journalists during its earnings call that it wants to lower the entry barrier so that more customers can buy foldable phones. It said Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold buyers have experienced high satisfaction levels.
While the company didn’t reveal when it plans to launch cheaper foldable phones, other reports claim that Samsung is thinking of launching a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE sometime next year.
A Samsung executive said that Galaxy Z Fold series phones will continue to become lighter, slimmer, and have better cameras. At the same time, he also said that Galaxy Z Flip series phones will have a differentiated, premium cover screen design.

He reportedly also confirmed that Samsung is working on even newer form factors to bring a more powerful and innovative mobile experience to consumers. It hinted that it will bring such devices to the market once they can offer the level of quality and experience that can satisfy consumers in real life.
With this, the company could be hinting at a dual-foldable smartphone that can convert into a big-sized tablet. There have been rumors that Samsung is planning to bring such a device to the market in the second half of next year.
