In January 2024, Samsung launched the company’s latest rugged smartphone, the XCover 7. A couple of months ago, we learned that the brand is developing a new XCover series phone, the XCover 8 Pro. While we didn’t hear anything about it after that, a new leak reveals that the South Korean tech giant is developing another phone for the lineup, the XCover 7 Pro.
Folks at Android Authority have come across strings of code “from a reliable source” that mentions XCover 7 Pro. Going by the name, it should arrive as a more advanced version of the XCover 7. The strings of code also reveal that the phone has SM7635 SoC, which is the model number for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Sadly, that’s all we know about it at the moment.
The story continues after the video…
The XCover series phones have a rugged build, making them more resistant to drops and environmental elements compared to regular smartphones. That being said, Samsung offers rugged phones in other lineups as well, at various price points. In the high-end category, you have the Galaxy S24 Ultra with a titanium frame and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, and in the low-end, you have the Galaxy A35 with an IP67 rating.
