Last week, Samsung unveiled the Odyssey OLED G8, the world’s first monitor featuring a 27-inch QD-OLED display with 4K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, which it sourced from Samsung Display. The same day, Asus and MSI also announced monitors with the same display panel. Now, Alienware is also jumping on the bandwagon.

Alienware launches 27-inch 4K 240Hz QD-OLED monitor (AW2725Q)

Alienware has launched the Alienware AW2725Q. It has a 27-inch display with QD-OLED technology and 4K resolution. Since it uses the same Samsung Display panel as the other monitors mentioned above, it has the same specifications as them. That includes a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.3ms response time.

The monitor supports Dolby Vision HDR and comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. You also get Nvidia G-Sync Compatible, AMD FreeSynch Premium Pro, and VESA AdaptiveSync certifications.  Alienware claims that the new model covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and has a color accuracy of Delta E<2.

Connectivity options include 1x DisplayPort 1.4 port, 2x HDMI 2.1 ports (with one of them supporting HDMI 2.1 FRL with eARC/ARC to support Dolby Atmos signal pass-through), 3x USB Type-A downstream ports, 1x USB Type-B upstream port, and 1x USB Type-C downstream port with 15W PD.

Alienware has priced the AW2725Q in the United States at $899 and in Canada at $1,299. It will be available to purchase in North America in March 2025. The company will also bring it to Asia (in March 2025), China (22 January 2025), and EMEA (in April 2025). However, it hasn’t announced pricing for those regions. You get a 3-year burn-in warranty.
