Samsung has announced the launch of the Galaxy A16 budget phone in the UK. It's the first value phone in the A1x series to offer six generations of Android OS upgrades, and Samsung has prepared another incentive for early prospective Galaxy A16 buyers in the UK.
The Galaxy A16 comes with 5G or LTE connectivity. The Galaxy A16 5G is available in the UK right now for £199. The Galaxy A16 LTE will be available in the UK from November 20 for £169.
In tune with the year-end holiday spirit, Samsung has prepared a special offer for early Galaxy A16 adopters.
Customers in the UK who buy the Galaxy A16 5G or A16 LTE between before December 22 will get the Galaxy SmartTag 2 for free.
The Galaxy SmartTag 2 usually costs £34, so that's a nice value gift to pair with a phone that can cost as little as £169. The SmartTag 2 is a location tracker that lets you track belongings or even pets through the SmartThings app.

It is worth knowing that the extra accurate close-range tracking feature of the Galaxy SmartTag 2 requires UWB (ultra-wideband) connectivity, and needless to say, the Galaxy A16 does not have that.
Regarding everything else about the Galaxy A16, the phone sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED 90Hz display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080, a 50MP primary camera next to 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro shooters, a 13MP selfie camera, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP54 dust and water resistance, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging.
If you go ahead and order your Galaxy A16 now, Samsung UK also offers you a chance to get a free Galaxy Ring sizing kit and a 20% discount on the smart ring if you buy it at the same time as the budget phone.
