Today, Samsung is launching a Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition variant with extra bling. It is called the Samsung W25, and it is launching exclusively in China alongside the W25 Flip, which is a blingier version of the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Samsung has announced that its new foldable phones, the W25 and the W25 Flip, are launching in China today. The W25 is a variant of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, while the W25 Flip is a variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Both phones can be pre-reserved in China through Samsung's official website, but their prices haven't been announced yet.
Both phones have a golden Armor Aluminum frame, while the rest of the phones are painted black. The W25 Flip only uses Armor Aluminum and Gorilla Glass Victus 2, while the W25 has a more luxurious ceramic back. Both phones have the “Heart of the World” logo with a matte finish on the rear panel.
Due to its ceramic back, the W25 weighs 19g more than the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (236g). The W25 and the W25 Flip are IP48-rated for dust and water resistance.
The W25 has a 200MP primary rear camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera (3x optical zoom), a 10MP selfie camera, and a 4MP internal selfie camera. The W25 Flip has a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP selfie camera. Both phones can record 4K 60fps videos and 8K 30fps videos.
On the inside, both phones use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy chip. The W25 has 16GB RAM and 512GB/1TB internal storage. The W25 Flip has 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage.
The W25 is powered by a 4,400mAh battery, while the W25 Flip has a 4,000mAh battery. Both phones come with a 25W fast charger (USB PD PPS) and an official case in the box.
The W25 and the W25 Flip run Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, they have something extra. They both feature the next-generation Bixby that is powered by large language models (LLMs). It can understand natural language and context in a much better way.
Both phones have stereo speakers, side-mounted fingerprint reader, 5G (dual-SIM), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB 3.2 Type-C port.
