Although the new Galaxy S25 series is powered exclusively by Qualcomm's latest chip in every market, Samsung hasn't given up on its next in-house Exynos solution. The Exynos 2500 is still in development and could debut in the second half of 2025.

Samsung revealed its Q4 2024 earnings earlier today, and the System LSI division had some things to say about the yet-to-be-released Exynos 2500 chip.

In its earnings call, Samsung System LSI claimed that it is optimizing the Exynos 2500 SoC and wants to “secure design wins for mobile models scheduled for release in H2” (via @bryanmba).

Galaxy Z Flip 7 with Exynos SoC?

This latest report lends a bit of weight to the previous rumor that Samsung might plan on equipping the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 with the Exynos 2500 SoC.

Is this a confirmation that the next-gen Flip will be powered by the Exynos 2500? We wouldn't call it as such, but the timeframes do align. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 should be announced and released in the second half of 2025, much like the Exynos 2500.

Nevertheless, Samsung has had many chip clients over the years, and Exynos SoCs have landed in phones from brands other than its own. The most likely scenario is that System LSI is trying to optimize the Exynos 2500 chipset for an H2 release and secure more clients for it.

Whether Samsung's mobile division will be one of those clients is to be determined but it is a strong possibility. Rumors say the Exynos 2500 SoC features:

• One ARM Cortex-X925 core @3.3Ghz.
• Two ARM Cortex-A725 CPU cores @2.75GHz.
• Five Cortex-A725 cores @2.36GHz.
• Two Cortex-A520 cores @1.8GHz.
• 16MB of L3 cache.
• 1.3GHz Samsung Xclipse 950 GPU with AMD RDNA3.5 architecture.
• NPU with 56 TOPs.
