Part of the problem with Exynos chips is their fabrication quality. Samsung Foundry, which has historically made Exynos chips, isn't as good at fabricating chips as TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company).
So, Samsung might do something unthinkable and get its Exynos chips made by its rival TSMC.
According to a claim from tipster @Jukanlosreve, Samsung is considering getting its future Exynos chips manufactured by TSMC. An ex-Qualcomm employee, who is now an industry analyst, also backed this claim.
If the claim is accurate, at least half the problems in Exynos chips, like performance throttling and higher power consumption, could be solved to a large extent.
Older Exynos chips had three major problems: power efficiency, performance throttling, and an inefficient cellular modem. Over the past couple of years, Samsung has largely solved those issues. And the Exynos 2400, which debuted earlier this year, is a pretty good chip.
However, the problem is that being good enough isn't enough these days. The competition is extremely high, and companies like Apple, MediaTek, and Qualcomm are making extremely powerful and power-efficient smartphone chips.
If Samsung gets its Exynos chips made by TSMC, there will likely be no power efficiency and performance throttling issues. That would solve the most important issues seen in previous-generation Exynos chips.

However, getting chips made by TSMC is costlier, so it could end up affecting the price of Galaxy smartphones and tablets. You may have to spend more to buy future Galaxy phones if they have Exynos chips fabricated by TSMC.
