If you're holding onto an older Galaxy Watch and wondering whether Samsung will show it some love with the latest One UI 8 Watch update, you're in luck. Samsung confirmed earlier today that the highly anticipated firmware update will roll out to older Galaxy Watch models before the end of the year.
Although the company didn't specify a concrete timeline, we can confirm which models are eligible for One UI 8 Watch once it rolls out. See the list below.
The Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and (2025) Watch Ultra ship with One UI 8 Watch out of the box. The 2024 Watch Ultra already received the update in late July.

Of course, One UI 8 Watch will be available for both Wi-Fi and LTE variants in every region. It will also be available for special edition variants of the models mentioned above, including but not limited to:
In essence, the One UI 8 Watch update will roll out for every Galaxy Watch that runs Wear OS, regardless of whether it is a special edition model or not. And as you're probably expecting, no Tizen OS smartwatches will be updated. These are no longer supported.
Finally, although all of the aforementioned Wear OS-based Samsung Galaxy Watches will receive One UI 8 Watch, older models will miss out on the latest features, such as Antioxidant Index.
