Samsung has released a new software update to its last Note series devices, the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The update offers the January 2025 security patch, which fixes a bunch of security issues. You can read more about it here.
So far, the South Korean tech giant has made the new software update available for the carrier-unlocked variants of the two devices for the United States, which have model numbers SM-N981U1 and SM-N986U1. The updates carry firmware versions N981U1UESBHXL1 and N986U1UESBHXL1.
If you own the variants of the Galaxy Note 20 mentioned above, Samsung will send a notification on your phone alerting you about the update. You will just have to click on it to get the new firmware. If you don’t see a notification then you will have to check for the update manually. You can do that by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also get the new firmware from our database.
We expect Samsung to release the new security patch to other variants of the Galaxy Note 20 in the next few days. You can follow our channel on Telegram/WhatsApp to get news about software updates and everything related to Samsung delivered to you.
