After Android 15-based One UI 7.0, Samsung is rolling out a new software update to its non-foldable flagship phones from last year, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. It brings the May 2025 security patch, which fixes many security issues.
At the moment, Samsung is rolling it out to the carrier-locked and the carrier-unlocked variants of these smartphones for the United States, which carry model numbers SM-S921U, SM-S926U, SM-S928U, SM-S921U1, SM-S926U1, SM-S928U1, respectively.
The software update for the carrier-locked variants has firmware version S92xUSQS4BYE4, and that for the carrier-unlocked variants has firmware version S92xU1UES4BYE4. To get the update, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install.
We expect Samsung to release the May 2025 security patch to other variants of the Galaxy S24 series, including the international one, in the next few days. The South Korean tech giant is also trying to roll out Android 16-based One UI 8.0 as soon as possible.
