In a turn of events that will surprise almost no one, the rumored date for the expansion of the Galaxy S24 series' One UI 7.0 (Android 15) beta program to more countries may have been pushed back. This means the release of the second beta update for markets where the beta program went live on December 5 has been delayed as well.
Everyone was expecting the update to drop today because of rumors from industry sources, but Samsung customer support is telling users that the update is now scheduled for December 16. Even that date may not be accurate and further delays could happen, as last minute changes in Samsung's plans are pretty common.
While Samsung has a habit of rushing new products out the door for the sake of being first, it takes the opposite approach when it comes to One UI beta updates. And that's a good thing. No one wants unfinished software that could potentially cause major issues, including but not limited to locking people out of their phones and forcing them to perform a factory reset and lose data in the process.
The next One UI 7 beta update for the Galaxy S24 series will roll out when it's ready, and that could be tomorrow, next week, the week after that, or even next month. The upcoming holiday season probably won't help matters, though we won't rule out the possibility that Samsung's software development team will be burning the midnight oil as the world celebrates Christmas and then moves to ringing in the new year.
