It's been rumored for a couple of months now that Samsung is working on a fourth model of the Galaxy S25 series. We may not see it being unveiled on January 22nd alongside the Galaxy S25, S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, though.
When this phone, currently referred to as the Galaxy S25 Slim, does arrive it's going to be one of the thinnest flagships, excluding foldables, we've seen from Samsung in a long time. Finally, we now have a leak that gives us our first look at this device.
This leak mentions that the Galaxy S25 Slim will measure 159 x 76 x 6.4mm. While it's impressively slim, the device still isn't the slimmest phone we've seen from Samsung. That title rests with the Galaxy A8 that was launched in 2015. It measured just 5.9mm thin.
Samsung's modern flagships aren't really chunky by any stretch of the imagination. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ measure 7.6 and 7.7mm only. We're not mentioning the Galaxy S24 Ultra here because it would be an apples to oranges comparison between that beast and the Slim. So the Galaxy S25 will be at most 1.2mm thinner than the base model of the Galaxy S24.
A svelte frame won't be the only claim to fame that the Galaxy S25 Slim has. It reportedly features the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chip that's powering the entire Galaxy S25 series. The camera setup may include a 200-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 50-megapixel ultra-wide and 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom.
It's even claimed to have a battery size between 4,700mAh and 5,000mAh, which would be wonderful for a device of this size, and one that's definitely going to win it a lot of buyers from the subset of customers who love slimmer devices.
As for when the Galaxy S25 Slim may arrive, a recent report has claimed that it won't be released before Q2, 2025. That's probably for the better, Samsung wouldn't want it to overshadow the three Galaxy S25 models that are being unveiled on January 22nd. No word as yet on how much it's going to cost, though.
