Do you remember The Premiere 5 projector that Samsung initially unveiled at CES 2024 a year ago? As far as we can tell, it never went on sale last year. However, it made a comeback at CES this week.
Samsung showcased The Premiere 5 again at the trade show in Las Vegas, dubbing it “The industry's first interactive triple-laser ultra-short-throw (UST) projector.”
The Premiere 5 has a different design than the Premiere 7 and 9. More importantly, it has an interactive touch feature.
In essence, The Premiere 5 can project images that users can interact with. For instance, you can project a Match 3 game on the desk and interact with the projected image as if it's a touchscreen.
Samsung hasn't said much about The Premiere 5's specifications during its initial CES 2025 presentation. However, judging by what we saw a year ago and today, The Premiere 5 should be capable of projecting a 100-inch 4K image from a distance of 17 inches.
It should also be equipped with 10W speakers that can continue playing while the image is turned off, thanks to the Screen Off feature.
Other characteristics we spotted include wireless screen mirroring from mobile devices and a customizable dashboard that featured several widgets.
Sadly, although Samsung is showing off The Premiere 5 as a new product at CES 2025, it's been a year since the original announcement, and it's yet to go on sale. Again, pricing and release details remain a mystery as of this writing, but seeing the product again at CES might be an indication that Samsung is planning to finally release The Premiere 5 this year. We'll keep you posted.
