Remember the Galaxy A52s, Samsung's most powerful mid-range phone until the Galaxy A55 stole that title? Or better yet, do you still own one? If you do, then you may have a new software update waiting for you.
The Galaxy A52s is the only A52-series model that is still supported with firmware updates, and a new one is now available. The latest update, featuring the build number A528BXXSBGYF1, is rolling out in some Asian markets and brings the June 2025 security patch to the phone.
The June 2025 patch fixes 19 security flaws in Samsung's software, targeting issues such as unauthorized access to Samsung Cloud and the ability to take screenshots on a connected Galaxy Watch without the user's permission. Dozens of vulnerabilities in the core Android OS have also been patched.
As expected for a mid-range Samsung phone launched all the way back in 2021, this update offers nothing of interest except for security fixes. To download it, go into the Settings » Software update menu of your Galaxy A52s and tap the Download and install button. You can also download Galaxy A52s firmware from the SamMobile database.
The update may not be immediately available for everyone, and it may take a few weeks for it to reach everyone around the globe. So, if nothing comes up when you check for the update, just try again later. Or, if you want the latest updates as quickly as possible, maybe look at the Galaxy A56 as an upgrade. The Galaxy A56 comes running One UI 7 out of the box, gets monthly security updates, and is eligible for six major OS updates.
