Samsung released the One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy S22 in the USA earlier this month. However, that update came with previous month's security patch. Now, the company has released the May 2025 security update to the factory-unlocked units of the Galaxy S22 series in the USA.

A new software update is now available for factory-unlocked units of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in the USA. The update comes with firmware version S90xU1UES8FYE4 and includes the May 2025 security patch that fixes dozens of security loopholes found in the previous software.
It does not bring any new features or performance enhancements. It could contain some bug fixes that came with the One UI 7.0 update, though.
The detailed firmware versions for all three phones are listed below.
If you have a factory-unlocked Galaxy S22 series phone, you can check for the new update on your device by heading over to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the update is downloaded completely, tap the Install now button to install it. The phone will then restart after a few minutes.
You can also download the new firmware file from SamMobile's firmware database and flash it manually. You would need a computer running Windows OS and the Odin tool. You also need to be well-versed with manual firmware flashing process.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The phones received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. Last month, they received the Android 15 update. They will get Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update in the next few months.
