RIYADH — The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued its preliminary climate outlook for Ramadan 1447H, forecasting below-average rainfall and slightly higher temperatures in Makkah and Madinah during the holy month.According to the center, expected rainfall totals in both cities are projected to be lower than seasonal averages.The normal monthly rainfall stands at approximately 4.2 mm in Makkah and 4.3 mm in Madinah. Any precipitation recorded during Ramadan is likely to fall within the light rainfall category.Temperatures, meanwhile, are expected to trend above normal levels.The forecast indicates a maximum increase of around 1°C above average in Makkah and up to 1.2°C above average in Madinah.Historically, average temperatures during Ramadan stand at approximately 26.8°C in Makkah and 23.1°C in Madinah.The NCM stated that the seasonal forecast aims to support preparedness planning and operational readiness, particularly for entities serving visitors to the Two Holy Mosques during the holy month.The center encouraged the public to follow its official channels for updated weather reports and periodic climate briefings.
