RIYADH — Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh launched in Riyadh on Sunday the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Ramadan programs for 1447 AH. The programs include initiatives for iftar, distribution of the copies of the Holy Qur’an, and distribution of dates among Muslims in 120 countries worldwide. The programs include the distribution of 2.2 million copies of the Holy Qur’an and its translations. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Gift Program for Distributing Dates will provide 1,000 tons this year—an increase of 300 tons compared with last year—reaching 120 countries, including 18 new countries. The ministry will also dispatch 91 imams to lead prayers in 49 countries during the holy month. Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Al-Sheikh emphasized that these programs represent a global humanitarian message rooted in the values of the Kingdom. He noted that they reflect the leadership’s commitment to extending goodness to Muslims worldwide and embody Saudi Arabia’s pioneering role in serving Islam and Muslims, reinforcing the principles of moderation, tolerance, and solidarity while sharing the joy of the holy month. He affirmed that the ministry has mobilized all human and organizational resources to ensure the initiatives reach beneficiaries efficiently, reflecting the Kingdom’s honorable image, strengthening its humanitarian presence, and reaffirming its unwavering commitment to spreading peace and serving the Muslim Ummah.
