Samsung is testing Android 15 and One UI 7.0 on multiple budget phones and has added another device to the mix this week (via Tarun Vats). The LTE variant of the Galaxy M14 was benchmarked recently on Geekbench, and the tested unit was running Android 15.
No Android 15 firmware for the phone are publicly visible on Samsung's servers yet, but that is to be expected. Budget phones usually have a low priority when it comes to the development of a new One UI update, especially when they were launched more than a year ago (the M14 was announced in March 2023).
Samsung probably started testing One UI 7.0 on the M14 just a few weeks back. While we haven't seen any evidence, it is likely testing the new software on the 5G variant as well. The 5G variant may even get the update before the LTE variant, though we hope the gap between the two won't be significant as last time: the M14 5G received Android 14 and One UI 6.0 a whopping four months before the regular M14!
Some other budget phones, such as the Galaxy A14 5G and A15 5G, were spotted with Android 15 as early as October. They will probably get the official update before both M14 variants. We'll keep you informed as we learn more about One UI 7.0 on Samsung's affordable smartphones. Stay tuned.
