Sometimes you might miss too many messages on WhatsApp when you are busy with work or driving. And catching up to all those missed chats may feel like a chore, especially when those unread messages are from WhatsApp groups. To help you with it, Meta has introduced a new Meta AI-powered feature called Message Summaries.
Meta-owned messaging service WhatsApp has announced Message Summaries. It uses Meta AI to analyze unread messages on WhatsApp on your phone and then provides a short summary with the important information so that you don't have to read each and every message. Since there is a lot of concern around privacy, this feature is not enabled by default, and you have turn it on manually.
You can tap the ‘Summarize Privately' option that appears on top of your unread messages in any chat thread on WhatsApp. It then processes all the unread messages in that thread using Meta AI and then displays a short summary, which is visible only to you.
Meta says Message Summaries are created using ‘Private Processing,' and neither Meta AI nor Meta can actually see your messages or its AI-generated summary. The feature is turned off by default, and you can use Advanced Chat Privacy features to select which chats can use AI features.
The Message Summaries feature is rolling out in the English language for WhatsApp users in the USA. Meta says it will expand the availability of the feature to more users in other countries later this year. So, you will be able to use this feature on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet before the end of this year.
