Lately, Samsung's been leaning more into the software side by refining its proprietary One UI skin for Android, improving the user experience across the ecosystem and different device categories, and introducing powerful AI features.
Because of Samsung's new approach to refined software experiences, One UI 7 has become one of the most anticipated updates in recent memory. And for Galaxy S24 users, stable One UI 7 is almost here.
Samsung hasn't provided a roadmap as to when the One UI 7 update will roll out widely for the Galaxy S24 lineup, and it's never easy to be certain about new firmware releases, as launch timeframes are subject to change until the last moment.
Nevertheless, we are hopeful that stable One UI 7 will start rolling out for Galaxy S24 users in February – possibly as early as the first half of the month.
Given the ambitious scope of this update, many things could go wrong, at least in theory. Samsung has been testing One UI 7 with the help of Galaxy S24 users in select markets since December. However, this beta program was unlike the previous ones.
The beta program arrived rather late — later than usual. Furthermore, the Galaxy S24 was the only phone series to be included in the pre-release testing phase.
Usually, a two-month beta testing period is enough, but given the scope of One UI 7, we recommend Galaxy S24 users who are eager to get their hands on the stable One UI 7 release make preparations and take a few precautions.
It's better to be on the safe side than to be sorry. So, now that the stable update is just around the corner, our advice is to start making preparations and not let your guard down once the stable One UI 7 update rolls out.
Whether you're a beta tester or your Galaxy S24 is on stable firmware, consider the following:
We wrote a comprehensive guide on how to perform these steps, so make sure you hit the link below and check it out if you want your Galaxy S24 to be prepared for the stable One UI 7 release and minimize the risk of having an unpleasant experience.
Of course, there's always the slim chance that the first stable build will cause some issues, but chances are remote at best. Either way, that's out of your control. If you want to be extra careful, wait for other Galaxy S24 users to update to the stable One UI 7 update once it's out and see if they report any issues. We'll try to bring any potential problems to your attention, so stay tuned.
