At CES 2025, Samsung launched its lineup of OLED TVs for 2025. It has three models, the S85F, S90F, and the S95F. Well, the company has now launched the base model in the series, the S85F, in its home country, South Korea, making it the first region where the TV is going on sale.
While that’s great for people waiting for the model, there’s some bad news for them in the store, and that is, the S85F might be using LG Display’s WRGB OLED instead of Samsung Display’s more superior, QD-OLED. Let’s take a look at its price, availability details, and specifications.
At the moment, Samsung has made the S85F OLED TV available to purchase in South Korea in only one size, 55-inch, and the company has priced it at KRW 1,690,000 (approximately $1,164). It is readily available to purchase from Samsung’s official online store in the country.
At CES 2025, Samsung showcased the TV in three more sizes, 65-inch, 77-inch, and 83-inch. We are expecting the brand to launch those sizes at a later date.
The Samsung S85F 55-inch OLED TV has the model number KQ55SF85AEXKR, at least in South Korea. As the name suggests, it features a 55-inch OLED panel. It has 4K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR, HDR 10+, and support for AMD FreeSync Premium.
There’s no confirmation if it uses Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panel or LG Display’s WRGB OLED panel. However, considering that Samsung hasn’t mentioned Quantum Dot or QD anywhere on the product listing, we are assuming that it uses LG Display’s WRGB OLED panel.
As for audio, the Samsung S85F OLED features two 10W speakers in a stereo configuration. It also comes with Q-Symphony and OTS Lite and supports Dolby Atmos.
It has four HDMI ports and Samsung says that all of them support 4K at 120Hz, which means that these are HDMI 2.1 ports. There are also two USB Type-A ports onboard.

As for wireless connectivity, the TV has WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3. You also get support for AirPlay, SmartThings, and Matter.
The TV features the 2nd Generation AI 4K processor and runs on Tizen OS with One UI. Samsung will offer 7 years of updates to the TV and ship it with a Solar Cell Remote.
