Now Bar is one of the most impressive features of One UI 7.0. It displays ongoing activities from supported apps and services. Recently, Samsung turned the Now Bar into an information hub related to the ongoing South Korean presidential election.
The Now Bar is compatible with several stock Samsung apps and some third-party apps. Recently, the Naver app in South Korea started displaying information related to the ongoing presidential election in South Korea. This information was posted by South Korean users who are using Galaxy phones running One UI 7.0.
As you can see in the image above, the Naver app displayed information such as the starting time for voting, voter turnout percentage, information about candidates participating in the election, and the option to find nearest polling stations. This information was displayed on the Now Bar on the lock screen.
Since Samsung has integrated Android 16's Live Updates feature into the Now Bar in One UI 8.0, support for even more third-party apps will come in the future. Google showcased the Live Updates feature last week and said it will be compatible with food delivery, maps navigation, and ride hailing third-party apps that implement the feature.
