Two weeks ago, Samsung released the feature-rich One UI 7 update for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) in its home country South Korea. Now, it has expanded the availability of that update globally. The update is now available in several countries spanning Asia (including the Middle East and Southeast Asia), Europe, Latin America, and North America.

The Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update has been released in Asia, Europre, Latin America, and North America. It comes with firmware version P620XXU5BYE5 and has a download size of around 3GB. It includes the May 2025 security patch instead of the June 2025 security patch. The list of countries and regions where the update is available is placed below.

If you own a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) and live in a country or region listed above, you should check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Once the update file is downloaded, tap the Install now button. Once the installation process is finished, the tablet will reboot, and this process takes a few minutes.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) in early 2024 with Android 14 onboard. It received some minor One UI updates (One UI 6.1 and One UI 6.1.1). One UI 7.0 is its first major One UI update. It will get three more Android OS updates in the future.

One UI 7.0 brings a redesigned UI, new app icons, a more customizable Quick Panel, bigger and stacked notifications, smoother and more playful animations and transitions, a new charging animation, a new battery icon in the status bar, new widgets, more customization options for widgets, and Now Bar. The taskbar can be hidden automatically.

Now Bar displays ongoing activities, such as media playback, stopwatch, and timer. Now Bar is visible on the lock screen, on top of the notifications section, and as a pill-shaped chip in the status bar.

The home screen grid is now simplified, and the arrangement of icons and widgets stays as per your liking in both portrait and landscape screen orientations. There is a Large Folder option that you can use to launch apps placed inside it without first opening the folder, saving you a click.

Notifications and Quick Panel now have their own pages. Notifications can be accessed by swiping down from the top of the screen's center or left parts. Quick Panel can be accessed by swiping down from the screen's top right part.

The stock Camera app has received a new design that makes it easier to use the app with one hand. All the important controls are near your fingers. The app has mode selection improvements, a better mode selection menu, improved grid lines and levels, and the ability to record videos while playing media in the background.

The built-in image and video editors have been improved. The image editor freeform collages, while the video editor can undo and redo edits. The video editor can also add animations to certain elements such as stickers and text. Alarms, Calendar, Quick Share, Reminders, and Routines have been improved as well.
